Staying Connected with Our Young Adults

Studies show that one of the most influential factors in whether or not a young adult continues to identify with the faith tradition they were raised is….feeling a connection with at least 5 adults in their home congregation.

What better time to reach out to our young adults than Valentines Day, when eveyone feels the pressure to be partnered with someone? This time of year can bring feelings of lonelness and longing for home.

We’re gathering donations for Huge UU Greetings and Goodies packages for our fledgling adults ages 18-22.
Whether they are now working, traveling, volunteering, serving in the military or in college, these young adults so appreciate a package with notes and goodies from us at Albany UU.

Please bring donations to the bin in the Work Room (where the photocopier is) by Friday, Feb 5. The youth group will be packing HUUGGs in time for Valentines Day.

Suggested items

• packets of soup, noodles,
• dried fruit,
• tea, coffee, hot chocolate,
• candy, gum
• popcorn
• granola bars
• local newspapers like Metroland
• lip balm
• a note with your good wishes

The Youth Group will pack up the donations during their overnight on Sat, Feb 7.

Whether they are now working or volunteering, serving in the military or in college, our grads have let us know that they so appreciate a package with notes and goodies from us at FUUSA – especially at Valentines Day, when they often feel lonely and homesick.
